WEALD HARNESS CLUB’S EVENTS FOR 2020

Unfortunately due to COVID 19, our calendar of proposed events has been severely affected.

Many carriage drivers have been unable to even exercise safely during lockdown as their driver/groom combination did not fall within a household bubble.  Therefore, it is only recently that turnouts are now coming back into work and it is for this reason, that WHC Committee has decided to put on a Have a Go / Fun / Training Day for their first event.

Saturday 29th August 2020  – Old Hay Farm, Paddock Wood Would you like to come and practice your cones, dressage or obstacles in a safe, grassed, enclosed area? The club will offer 3 full sized dressage arenas (100 x 40, 80 x 40 and 50 x 20m).  How often do you get the chance to really practice your dressage, let alone in a proper arena? We will also put on 2 full size cones courses.  One will be built along club standard, the other close to national level.  Finally, we will give you 3 obstacles.  Each will be flagged, but as it will only be you driving in there, you can use them how you wish. There will be members from the club to help you, but otherwise, just come and have some fun.  You can choose which elements you wish to do or come and do all of them.  Roll up and get ready (hopefully) for competitions and blow those cobwebs away!   We will have to operate within strict COVID rules so you will be given a timed slot and regrettably, we cannot allow spectators.

We still have the World Cup Indoor Event at Saddlesdane on 22/12/20 between 11am – 4 pm booked and very much hope to run it as planned.

Other events under consideration:• RDA training days at Old Hay / another venue• BBQ• Xmas meal• Have a go at cones• Joint BDS event• Visit to the Carriage museum at Maidstone
